Oh poop…..or should I say, No poop ??!!

Its 5 days post-op, and fenway has finally hit a road block…..Or a intestine block…Yup, no poop.
He was doing so well.  Ever since he came home, he has been having regular bowel movements….Eating normal amounts, drinking normal amounts, and subsequently pooping normal amounts.  That is until yesterday.

He seems perfectly fine.  He is bright eyed, and bushy tailed otherwise, so I am NOT going to freak out.

No, I am not going to freak out.  No I am not going to freak out.  ( if I repeat this multiple times, I wont freak out) …..Ok I am freaking out!!

So, needless to say, I will be venturing to the grocery store to purchase pumkpin puree.

Wish us luck, or just wish us poop, either is fine.

Check back in later….

And repeat after me, I am not going to freak out.  🙂

  1. I’m hoping it’s just the meds! Best of luck with the pumpkin! Waiting to hear that Fenway is back to his ‘regular’ self soon……so mom can stop freaking out 🙂

Happy to hear that he’s still bright eyed and busy tailed! That’s the most important part.

Hope he loves pumpkin. Charlie did. Give it a day (or two)

    Good luck – Good poops

  2. Geeze, Maggie didn’t poop for the first time after surgery UNTIL day 5 or 6 – seems like Fenway has been showing off if he’s been pooping every day : )
No need to freak out- remember the first couple of weeks after surgery can be bumpy, although Fenway really seems to be doing great so far.
The pain meds can cause constipation. I hope the pumpkin does the trick.

  3. He POOPED!!!!!!!!

I am so relieved. And by the “look” of things, Fenway is relieved too.

Ok, on to the next issue.

Any idea how to prevent hotspots, or possibly friction wounds on his remaining elbow?
We’ve wrapped it with gauze and tape. Any other suggestions?

    Thanks again!!!!
