Fit, Fast, Frisky, and 5 weeks post-op

Macy, Fenway, May and Summer. so much fun !

So, as you can tell by the name of this post, Fenway is just thriving.

The smells, and the sights of fall are keeping him very busy and alert.  Both of my dogs have always enjoyed the cooler months as opposed to summer.  In Connecticut, the weather has been very very cool.  Because of this, both have been so very frisky.

On sunday, he finally chased his sister, and tried to play with her (first time he has done this since surgery) .  He has been running around the yard, chasing squirrells, and deer, and attempted to chase a few wild turkeys.  His strength is truly amazing.  His stamina is amazing.  And his determination is overwhelming.   Today, when I arrived home, I opened the garage doors via remote control, and both dogs ran out, full speed.  Macy only beat him to the car by  a few steps !!!  Seriously, how does he do it??????!!!!!

We took a drive to their favorite place to run/walk/swim.  Above is  picture of him first arriving.  He was THRILLED.   I can tell you, he was really fast.  He spotted a friend off in the distance, and he ran all the way over to her.  I actually had to run to catch up to him.  He was fast!!!

He went quite a distance, and would have continued, but I opted to turn back around and not let him get too tired.

When we got home, he ran all around the yard too.  I am pretty sure he will sleep well tonight 🙂

Tomorrow is his second chemotherapy appointment.  Hoping he does as well tomorrow, as he has been doing.

If you don’t mind, can you send us some positive vibes tomorrow .  Thanks in advance.

Happy Tuesday everyone,

Golden hugs and kisses

    1. Thank you Samdog. How have you been? I have been working a lot, so I have fallen behind on reading the updates .

  1. Now THAT is a pawty! I love watching you get stronger and stronger every week Fenway. Tomorrow you’re gonna do great, I know it. Good luck!

  2. Just back from Chemotherapy. I have to say that the clinic, and the oncologist are wonderful. They allow me to stay in the room with him, and even encourage me to bring Macy, so that he isnt too stressed (In case I didnt mentioned it, Fenway does NOT like going to the vet. Never has. Probably never will).

Needless to say, he will probably sleep this rainy afternoon away. Macy is right by his side.

    Happy wednesday everyone.

  3. Way to go Fenway! Hope your chemo appointment goes well today! So glad you are having fun and have adjusted so well to life as a handsome tripawd… you make us all SO proud!
Labby kisses & sniffs from Hunter to you….

  4. So happy to read this. Our Golden, Sam, just had his amputation (left frong leg – osteosarcoma) on October 5, 2012, and we are still in the immediate post-op period. Stitches will come out on October 18 and he will have his first chemo treatment then. Our other dog, Toby, doesn’t quite know what to think or how to relate to him yet, but I hope they will still have as much fun together as they used to have when we took long hikes and romped through the woods. I’m so looking forward to having your experience after five weeks. Best luck to Fenway!

  5. TO FENWAY’S MOM:

Thanks so much for your personal response and the encouragement it gives us. Just got the final pathology report and the lymph nodes are clean. The diagnosis from the path report was condroblastic osteosarcoma.
